Position Description:

The City of Brookhaven, located in metro Atlanta, is seeking highly qualified applicants for a summer GIS internship in the IT Department.

Hours: Part-Time. Dates and times are flexible.

Location: Brookhaven City Hall and remote work (hybrid)

Compensation: $18/hour

Reports To: Mike Edelson, GIS Manager

Job Summary: The position will involve supporting GIS activities within the City of Brookhaven, utilizing ESRI and other GIS applications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proactiveness, self-motivation, and a team-oriented mindset. Additionally, they should exhibit a passion for promoting GIS technology and a customer-focused approach to their work.

Assist in the Following Duties:
• GIS support (presentations, reports, and analysis) for City operations.
• ArcGIS app development (Dashboards, Field Maps, Story Maps, Experience Builder, Instant Apps, etc.)
• Automating new workflows or updating existing workflows using Python or ArcGIS Interoperability (FME)
• 3D modeling using NearMap and ArcGIS products.
• Data collection of city park assets and mapping using ArcGIS Field Maps
• ArcGIS Online and Enterprise administration/maintenance

Minimum Qualifications:
• Enrolled in a four-year Bachelor’s degree program or two-year Associate’s degree program in a GIS-related field
• Working knowledge of methods, standards, and techniques in GIS
• Experience with ArcGIS Applications (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, etc.)
• Excellent communication skills
• Passion to learn, accept responsibility, and develop leadership skills.
