Title: CAD Specialist
Location: Ft. Irwin, CA
Field data collection/measurement of buildings using CAD-based technology and collection of space and man power data. Must have experience with MicroStation V8i; experience with ArcGIS or GPS data collection a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This position requires:
Minimum one year of daily MicroStation CAD experience in an architectural application.
Knowledge and understanding of architectural floor plans.
Work experience with AR415-28 (Guide to Army Real Property Category Codes) preferred; knowledge of AR405-70 (Utilization of Real Property) and AR420-1 (Army Facilities Management) a plus.
Knowledge of the Army organizational structure and military protocols.
Experience using Leica Disto laser measuring devices.
Knowledge and experience working with the A/E/C CAD Standard 4.x (or later).
Digitize floor plans accurately and quickly; edit existing floor plans.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Understanding of workflows/processes.
Move, copy, delete, and add files, drawings, and maps to output reports in hard copy or electronic transfer.
Motivated and able to function as part of a team.
Able to stand for extended periods of time (6-8 hrs per day); work will be performed indoors and outdoors.
Adhere to quality control procedures.
Ability to keep abreast of application upgrades.
May be responsible for maintaining and updating documented standard operating procedures.
Present information to users and answer questions.
Experience creating mapping data via digitizer or by direct input of coordinate information, coordinate systems, longitude, latitude, elevation, topography, and map scales a plus.
Experience preparing metadata and other documentation a plus.
Knowledge of SDSFIE 2.6 (or later) a plus.
Associates Degree or Technical School certificate in Computer Aided Design or related field, or minimum one year of experience.
Due to federal contract requirements, must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a secret clearance.
Must possess organizational skills.
Must have problem solving skills.
Must possess strong written and oral communication skills.
Must be able to multitask to efficiently meet deadlines with quality work.
Knowledge of Microsoft office products and other industry standard applications.
Experience with A/E/C CAD Standard 4.x (or later).
Experience with the Spatial Data Standard for Facilities Installations and Environment (SDSFIE) preferred.
Candidate must have a valid Drivers License and able to provide a DMV driving record if requested.

The compensation will be competitive and commensurate with the candidates skills and experience. This position includes health care and retirement benefits. Relocation allowance will not be provided.
