Redmond promotes a progressive multi-modal transportation approach and is seeking candidates with well-rounded work experience supporting various transportation projects involving transit, walking, biking and vehicles. The Redmond Transportation Master Plan (TMP) is an element of the City's Comprehensive Plan, and review the document that guides Redmond's transportation investment and activities.

-Provide technical and graphical support to complex transportation projects and studies related to expanding light rail, protected bicycle lanes on arterial streets, and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
-Collaborate with others to draft transportation standard drawings, amend planning studies, update cost estimates, and create maps for presentations
-Conduct research, evaluate data, and make recommendations based on analysis
-Speak with vendors and consultants regarding Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Computer-aided design and drafting (CAD) systems; assist engineers and planners in GIS/CAD/SketchUp and graphical design projects
-Maintain traffic counts data and network analysis tools
-Responsible for development and maintenance of GIS/CADD data unique to the transportation division
-Read and interpret design plans
-Oversee data collection and interpret results
-Prepare reports, analyze data, and make recommendations which impact departmental work plans, service delivery, or program design
-Prepare conceptual drawings and sketches and design layouts for various audiences
-Independently manage assigned projects and studies
