CEMS Engineering Inc. is a 29 year old small business which provides multidisciplinary A/E services including Architecture, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Structural and Fire Protection engineering.

CEMS Engineering | Architecture is seeking a GIS Analyst to join our growing team. The GIS Analyst is responsible for implementing GIS solutions on various DoD / Federal projects in support of client goals and project objectives. Successful candidate will have a track record of completing work with minimal oversight; including maintaining data quality on data edited by both field personnel and outside/other such as surveyors.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelorís Degree in geography, computer science, urban studies, planning, environmental studies, or related discipline
3 - 7 years of GIS experience on Department of Defense or other federal agency projects using ESRI GIS products
Experience with DoD IGI&S practices and policies
Experience with SDSFIE schema and FGDC data standards
Strong Cartographic presentation skills
Programming experience with (Python, .NET, ESRI ModelBuilder, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, C++)
Ability to associate non-GIS data tables for visualization of spatial relationships
Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office, Including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Demonstrated ability to be highly organized with great attention to detail
Effective time-management skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work collectively and independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction to given assignments, handle multi-tasking, work under pressure and meet critical deadlines
Valid driverís license
Ability to pass federal background check, credit check, and obtain access to federal property
Ability to travel up to 30%
Ability to walk distances of up to 1 mile over rough terrain and perform repetitive tasks that require bending or kneeling
Ability to lift and carry 45lbs over short distances. Must be able to move over, through or around obstacles on unimproved trails and in overland foot travel for up to 2 hours at a time
Desired Qualifications:
GISP Certification
Experience with (AutoCAD, Revit), especially CAD to GIS data integration, conversion, and migration
Relational database experience using (SQL, Oracle, SDE, Postgres)
Experience with utilities system modeling tools such as SWMM, InfoWater, or EasyPower
Experience with ArcGIS Pro and creating feature/map services, web maps, and applications
Experience with GPS data collection practices and applications
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain (GIS) databases to support project goals
Provide support for geospatial analysis and mapping, including but not limited to analyses, editing data, modeling, map production and creating reports
Perform data analytics and mining of GIS and relational data
Develop scripts and configure tools to automate repetitive tasks and facilitate data transfer
Create GIS-based cartographic products in support of various engineering projects
Prepare hard-copy and digital map products using strong cartographic skills and standardized map layer combinations, scale, graphics and annotation
Coordinate with engineering professionals and provide one-on-one or group coordination, presentation
Support field data collection efforts on utility systems and other infrastructure projects
Coordinate and conduct data collection to include training when in the field
