Position - GIS/Senior GIS Analyst

Our Northeast Region is seeking a talented GIS Analyst or Senior GIS Analyst to join our GIS team in our Rochester or Buffalo office! Title and salary will be commensurate with experience.

Purpose of Position:
To provide direct support to project teams working on desktop, web, mobile, and 3D GIS projects for both public and private sector clients.

Essential Functions:
The following duties are typical of the position, but are not all encompassing:
• Perform data design, data development, conversion, editing and maintenance within ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro
• Create map and features services, mobile and web map caches
• Install, configure, upgrade, and support GIS software for clients and internally on our servers, including: ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS License Manager, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Web Adaptor, Portal for ArcGIS
• ArcGIS Online/Portal administration; create maps and web applications; configure Collector for ArcGIS and Survey123 applications for editing in the field
• Design, build, support and administer enterprise geodatabases
• Create geoprocessing models using Model Builder and Python
• Communicate GIS solutions to clients and staff who are unfamiliar with geospatial language and procedures; regularly interact with customers and perform on-site work as needed; write technical documentation
• Provide technical GIS support to internal staff
• Establish & maintain positive relationships with coworkers, support and build others on the team and across disciplines/offices
• Be responsive to others and share information to improve efficiency and help others achieve goals; listen and engage in productive and critical debate
• Suggest new ideas and processes; stay current on Esri software and technology developments

Relationship to Others:
• Reports directly to a Project Manager
• An integral staff position within a nationally recognized GIS team
• Works in close collaboration with clients (outside and in-house)

Education, Experience, Certifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Planning or related field required
• Fours years of experience with the ArcGIS Platform required
• Certified Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) preferred
• Quick learner who enjoys working with new technology and software
• Team-oriented and able to work independently
