Growers is a precision agriculture and data analytics company, headquartered near Raleigh, NC. We help farmers across the country turn their farm data into recommendations that deliver higher yields, at lower cost, with less resources. The by-product is a more sustainable earth, one acre at a time.

Our Data Ops Team manages the accurate assimilation of client data, data cleaning and processing, record keeping, and statistical analyses of the data.

As a Senior GIS Analyst on the Data Ops Team, you will be responsible for:

* Collecting, organizing, and managing various types of agronomic and financial data in several different platforms, databases, web applications, and proprietary software to ensure high data integrity
* Ensuring accurate record-keeping and data assimilation in an ESRI environment
* Assisting other analysts in solving complex programming and data problems
* Creating custom agronomic and financial analysis, recommendations, and reports for our customers
* Delivering customer reports and other business objectives in a timely manner
* Participating in new model and product development
* Representing Growers’ values of integrity, humility, team-first mentality, and professionalism

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in economics, mathematics, computer science, planning, geography, or a related field
* Advanced course-work in spatial analysis
* A minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in GIS and data analysis

* GIS analysis and cartography using ArcGIS desktop suite
* Experience with statistical software, such as SAS and R; and modeling, such as multivariate regression and ANOVA
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint

* Ability to deal with ambiguity, and make evidence-based recommendations, and design hypothesis tests
* Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
* Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communications
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment

If you have these skills, it’s definitely a plus:

* Master’s degree in GIS, ag economics, statistics or a related field/professional equivalent experience
* 6-8 years’ experience
* Working knowledge of agronomy and precision agriculture practices and technologies
* Database management and design experience
* Programming / scripting experience (Python, R, or others), particularly in a spatial context
* Experience with Spatial Analyst tools in ArcGIS as well as open source tools
* Experience using quantitative and statistical methods
