Summary of Position
The GIS Analyst is responsible for maintaining the enterprise GIS deployment and implementing new GIS functionality to meet business needs. The GIS Analyst ensures GIS users leverage accurate and relevant spatial information to create insight for high-value decisions across the company. The GIS Analyst applies GIS technology and spatial analytics to assist in optimal site selections, generating sales projections, and estimating cannibalization.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities -
1. Maintain GIS content to ensure datasets and spatial tools are current, accurate, and relevant.
a. Edit, analyze, perform quality control, and create/maintain metadata on existing GIS datasets
b. Use geoprocessing tools, geocoding services, and spatial overlays to create, edit, and enrich both spatial and non-spatial datasets
c. Research and implement opportunities to improve decision-making with enhanced GIS data quality
d. Interact with enterprise data systems using Python, SQL Server Management Studio, ArcCatalog, and Alteryx to update GIS datasets
2. Create and maintain web mapping applications to meet business needs across the organization.
a. Create, publish, and optimize map services through ArcGIS Server
b. Configure reports and charts using ArcGIS Server and Geocortex Report Designer
c. Create and configure Geocortex sites using Geocortex Essentials Manager
d. Develop new GIS tools and functionality using Geocortex Workflow Designer and Geocortex Workflow 5
e. Troubleshoot performance and connectivity issues using Fiddler or other debugging software and work closely with the Information Technology Department and vendor technical support teams
3. Maintain enterprise GIS software and infrastructure. Create and update documentation on GIS maintenance and monitoring processes resulting in SOPs.
4. Support GIS users, including senior management, through training, technical support, and spatial analysis.
5. Prepare ad hoc analyses and mapping requests for senior management.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications -
• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in GIS support responsibilities, including application development, database administration, geodatabase design, web mapping, user support, etc.
• Advanced knowledge of Esri ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Server (version 10.3 or higher)
• Experience with GIS database editing, QA/QC processes, and geoprocessing
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and relational databases
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to effectively manage large amounts of data
• High level of initiative, willingness to assume responsibility, and ability to multi-task while meeting multiple deadlines
• Attention to detail required
• Willingness to travel (5% – 10%)
Desired Qualifications - Desired but not required.
• Strong knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Business Analyst, and Portal for ArcGIS
• Experience with Esri ModelBuilder, Python, R, JavaScript, VBScript, Alteryx, and Tableau
• Experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and SQL Server Management Studio
• Experience with Geocortex and TAS
• Familiarity with IIS, web servers, and Fiddler
• Interest in GIS application and web development
• GISP or Esri Certification a plus
• Retail experience
