Role: Geospatial Analyst

Role Summary: Support the further development and maintenance of a large geodatabase of points defined by longitude and latitude. Services will include the development of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) code to add data from partners to the database. Activities include working closely with representatives from individual partners to develop ETL code that will add their data to the database, sharing all ETL code through open-source.

Candidates must be eligible for federal security clearance and proof of U.S. Citizenship is required.

Essential Functions:
• Evaluate existing data and processes and develop action plans for further automation
• Work closely with stakeholders and partner subject matter experts (SME)
• Provide technical oversight and expertise for ETL development
• Maintenance of large geodatabases
• Identify and fix database issues proactively
• Support in the transformation of logical models into physical models
• Evaluate new data sources for inclusion into the system
• Contribute to data QA/QC, preprocessing, and reporting efforts
• Provide reviews and comments on processes, guidelines, standards, and blueprints in support of the data management program
• Support data architecture design that maximizes use of data and components, including geospatial data architecture
• Support development of business, technical, process, and operational data documentation
• Attend regular meetings to review work progress and schedule
• Present findings/solutions clearly in person and/or writing
• Provide weekly reports to summarize completed/ongoing tasks

Experience Required:
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography/GIS, Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics or relevant field
• Demonstrated experience capturing business requirements and documenting of business rules
• Knowledge of SQL, Python, VBA, and/or other data processing technologies
• Experience with technical requirements and database standards
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Experience:
• Addressing standards
• Experience with ArcGIS Data Interoperability, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Access)
• Programming (SQL, Python, other data query and processing technologies)

Work Environment:
• Washington DC, client site
