geocgi is looking for a GIS Analyst to support the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) on-site at Fort Belvoir, VA. geocgi GIS Analysts improve our client’s decision-making through high-quality geospatial data, advanced technical solutions, and sound implementation approaches. This position engages stakeholders, subject matter experts, and GIS users across communities of practice to gather requirements, document technical needs, and resource in accordance with end-user expectations for software and enterprise solutions. The GIS Analyst must demonstrate a desire to learn quickly and provide innovative and unique solutions to frequently changing obstacles.

The candidate will support USACE and will execute the responsibilities of a GIS Analyst, which includes:

• Must work with stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather requirements and understand geospatial data and software needs within the community
• Must be able to ingest a wide variety of data sources including but not limited to, pdfs, Visio diagrams, Excel spreadsheets, and personal interviews and transform into actionable information
• Familiarity and experience with data collection techniques including but not limited to, GPS devices, heads up digitizing, SME interviews, geoprocessing, and feature extraction as methods for creating geospatial data
• Knowledge of geospatial data editing workflows within multi-user versioned enterprise geodatabases
• Should possess a basic understanding of Python to automate geospatial data maintenance activities
• Must be agile and able to respond to rapidly changing requirements and environments

Minimum Requirements and Experience of the potential candidate:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Business, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• Two (2) years’ experience as a GIS Analyst, user, cartographer, or other role working with GIS software
• Familiarity with the Esri software suite of products beyond ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro
• Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI
• Basic understanding of ArcGIS Enterprise concepts
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and to take initiative to solve complex problems
• Personable, engaging presence, comfortable speaking with various stakeholders one-on-one and in large groups
• Ability to gather, record, and write clear, compelling, and actionable reports, white papers, memos, and other written materials
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
• GISP preferred
