Overview of Position:
As Geospatial Data Production Lead for the US, you are responsible for the planning and execution of data production for multiple projects across the country. This includes managing all staff and resources while maintaining procedures and workflows to meet and/or exceed company-wide standards for quality control and production timelines. You are responsible for troubleshooting data and workflow problems, in coordination with international colleagues, while also contributing to new developments in workflows, software, manuals, and training.

Specific Responsibilities:
Data Processing
• Be accountable for data quality control
• Ability to coordinate and work with GIS and other technology disciplines and platforms.
• Manage and improve data quality levels and quality control processes.
• Proven experience with remote sensing data including Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) and imagery.
• Convert data from multiple sources into usable file and map formats.
• Operate within complex processes in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Facilitate the simplification and / or automation of processes and procedures.

Project Management
• Ensure that projects and programs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget and quality standards
• Manage the day-to-day data processing activities and resources for multiple projects
• Prepare and update project schedule and activity tracking including project timeline estimation and task assignments
• Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with datasets and workflows
• Develop standard processes and documentation required for project executions
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of project tasks, progress, scope changes and communication internally and externally.
• Support and track change management activities in project scope
• Coordinate with international business units to support key company objectives
• Optimize and prioritize resources to exceed key KPI’s for project success

Communication and Reporting
• Develop and deliver progress reports and presentations to various audiences including project team, sponsors, management, and customers
• Coordinate proactively with cross-functional teams to maximize productivity
• Plan, schedule and document team meetings to discuss project progress and issue status reports with follow-up and related responsibility
• Prepare and approve final project reports for each project
• Manage customer feedback and follow-ups of delivered products

Team Building and Coordination
• Train and maintain key personnel for project success
• Develop and manage training material
• Ensure safety practices are followed to create a healthy and positive working environment
• Manage staff priorities effectively to execute assigned projects
• Identify resource requirements for various projects and provide suggestions for continued improvement
• Collaborate with departmental managers to recruit and train various employees

Additional Responsibilities
• The flexibility to travel in the field within the US or internationally for up to 3 weeks at a time
• Support sales-related initiatives, including proposals and new customer acquisition.

Qualifications:
Desired Skills:
• Proficiency with ArcView GIS, Global Mapper, QGIS, Lightroom & Photoshop Image Processing ,Microstation, Terrascan or similar GIS and image processing software is an asset
• Strong computer, spreadsheet, and quantitative skills
• Knowledge of remote sensing data capture systems including Lidar, IR/UV, high-resolution camera systems and gyro stabilized systems
• Proven ability to generate results and accountability to business needs
• A sense of urgency and self-motivation are essential
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage operations that require strong abilities in personnel and financial/budgeting oversight
• Proven success in providing on-site leadership for project team ensuring responsibilities and project milestones are met
• Strong technical and analytic skills
• Excellent leadership, communication (verbal and written) & interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to changing and competing demands
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
• Knowledge of the Aviation operating environment with helicopter and fixed wing is an asset

Desired Experience and Education:
• 5 to 10 years of experience in the remote sensing environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Geography / GIS, Engineering, Remote Sensing or related field
• Project Management Training and experience
• Demonstrated success in integrating and analyzing large complex datasets
• Experience with complex decision making, identifying priorities and resolving problems
• Strong experience managing projects and various data production teams
