Summary: Geocgi is looking for an experienced GIS Database Administrator to manage and coordinating large scale enterprise geospatial data and applications. The candidate will work from the client site in Washington DC. The candidate will integrate information sharing requirements and situational awareness applications across the enterprise. The GIS Database Administrator will be responsible for supporting development and policy and guidance implementation. The ideal candidate will possess complex problem-solving capabilities to address backup/recovery, information life cycle management, and disaster recovery for enterprise geodatabases. The candidate will execute the responsibilities of a GIS Database Administrator, which include:
• Implement proven IT/GIS strategies for RDBMS and enterprise geodatabases
• Install and maintain database for multi-tier architecture
• Perform geospatial data processing/ETL and publishing
• Implement data security, access, distribution, and retention
• Replicate, synchronize, and restore enterprise geodatabases
• Troubleshoot versioning, multi-user editing, and distributed data workflows
• Implements design standards, including advanced geodatabase functionality
• Geodatabase administration, configuration, tuning, and performance monitoring
• Design and implementation of backup and recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies
The following are requirements of the potential candidate:

• Bachelor’s or master’s in geography, computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or a related field, depending on position level
• Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with automation using RDBMS SQL procedural language (e.g., PL/SQL, TSQL, PL/pgSQL) and scripting tools such as shell, Perl or Python
• Prior experience troubleshooting user issues in production environments
• Hands on experience with RDBMS installations & configuration
• Experience working with Agile software development teams
• Top Secret Clearance
• CompTia Security +

The following are desired capabilities and experience of the potential candidate:

• 5+ years’ experience designing, implementing, and/or administrating Esri enterprise GIS solutions/systems
• Knowledge of Windows, Unix, and Linux
• Esri Enterprise Geodata Management Associate or Professional Certification
• Experience with AWS and Azure cloud environments
• Understanding of high availability datasets
