The GIS Demographics Specialist provides demographic reports,maps and analysis of existing and potential O'Reilly stores. They will perform market research, analytics to support new market areas using GIS software and update spatial databases and maintains existing datasets. This position will also support the GIS and Demographic team on all GIS projects.
Essential Job Functions
Create demographic reports and maps.
Create large format maps and graphics.
Research and mine data from a variety of sources and convert into useful and actionable information into the GIS database.
Geocoding of data.
Maintains the competition and other retailer geodatabases, verification of locations against aerials and other resources.
Conduct spatial analysis and modeling, perform analog and competitive analysis for existing and new markets.
Assists with analysis, research, design and implementation of mapping tools, templates and software.
Assist GIS\Demographics Team in creating Expansion Committee (EC), Lease Review (LC) and Store Projects meeting presentations and distribution which includes running demographics, making maps, data entry, calling SACs/SAC Managers to obtain information, etc.
Assists GIS/Demographic Coordinator with GIS projects and reports
Skills and Qualifications
Working knowledge of ArcGIS 10.4 or higher ESRI Software.
Knowledge of Google Maps, Google Earth and other mapping products.
The ability to think analytically, spatially and perform complex analysis.
Proficient with all types of office and PC equipment
Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills; attention to detail; organizational and time management skills
Ability to take detailed meeting minutes
Technical writing skills including grammar and business format
This is a full time opportunity; Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
