Position Overview Ritter GIS has an immediate opportunity for a GIS/AMS Specialist to join our Southeast Michigan team. This position will assist with various tasks based on background knowledge, desired learning objectives and most importantly our client needs. Our team invests heavily in training and leverages our core partnerships with ESRI (Silver) and Azteca Cityworks (Gold Implementation Partner). Working with our Operations Manager, this position should establish a positive baseline for the relationship between the client and Ritter GIS, all while supporting the project plan and schedule for implementing Cityworks and ESRI capabilities.
Manage and support enterprise GIS based systems for local government agencies.
GIS Service publishing and site management (SDE, AGO, Portal).
Cityworks Asset Management site development and administration.
Conduct and support onsite and web hosted training sessions.
Support and respond to client help tickets.
Attend meetings and occasional work onsite in SE Michigan.
Assist field teams in data collection and assessments as needed.
Develop and verify accuracy of spatial data.
Perform basic spatial analysis, data conversions, and perform data scrubbing.
Assist in hardware/software setup.
Assist in the development of GIS/Asset management workflows, databases, and map products.
Attend Conferences and Seminars as needed.
Use programming languages in GIS such as Python, SQL, C++, Visual Basic and Java. (GIS Programming, Web Development & Design, Software Application Development)
Develop “Apps” for data collection using laptops, smartphones, and tablets
Familiarity with ESRI components including experience with SDE, AGO, Story Maps, ArcGIS Server, Portal, ArcPro and ArcMap.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access)
Strong technical aptitude, including the ability to quickly and efficiently learn applications, systems, policies, and procedures
Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal / written communication and a positive, upbeat approach to dealing and interacting with people and situations.
Ability to work both independently and on team assignments
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
Strong knowledge with SQL Server and Database Administration
Experience working in or with Local Governments
Knowledge/familiarity with Azteca Cityworks asset management program
Hands-on experience providing management services for implementation projects for local governmental agencies, is preferred, but not required.

Ability to travel intermittently (approximately 25 days a year)
