Description
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in land surveying and geospatial science and coordinate and manage SCSU’s Geospatial Applications Laboratory. The candidate is expected to demonstrate effectiveness in online and in-person teaching, engage in scholarly or creative activity, contribute to student growth and professional preparation, and provide service to the department, university, and profession.
The faculty member should share St. Cloud State University’s commitment to educating a diverse student population and be willing to utilize innovative, online and hybrid instructional methods. Employment for this position is covered by the Inter Faculty Organization collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Geospatial Science, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate land surveying courses.
Demonstrated proficiency with and ability to teach using ArcGIS and other Esri products.
Ability to teach introductory, intermediate and advanced geospatial science courses.
Evidence of ability to teach and work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in Surveying, Geomatics, Geospatial Science, or a closely related field.
Professional experience in land surveying or geospatial practice.
College-level teaching experience, including online or hybrid formats
Licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor in a U.S. state or eligibility to obtain licensure.
Experience integrating GIS, surveying, and remote sensing in applied settings.
Experience maintaining hardware and software in a geospatial laboratory setting in coordination with tech support.
Experience working with or managing students in a lab setting, such as supervising contract, research, and grant work.
Success obtaining, and managing externally funded federal, state, or private contracts or grants.
Evidence of, or potential for, development of a sustainable research or scholarly agenda.
