Innovate! Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Database Administrator – Geospatial, SQL Server, Data Architect to provide database administration and technical support for Microsoft SQL Server, spatial SQL, and enterprise geodatabase environments. This role will support schema updates, versioned environments, performance tuning, mosaics, rasters, indices, and the maintenance of development, test, and production environments. The position requires the ability to support secure data management requirements, maintain metadata completeness and FGDC/ISO compliance, handle sensitive datasets marked “not for public distribution,” manage version control and database relationships, and support storage, migration, or archiving of legacy study reports.

Location: Candidate will work remotely

Salary Range: $90,000 – $120,000

Position status: Full Time; with benefits

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain relational databases across development, test, and production environments.
Support schema updates, versioning, tuning, and backups.
Support both branch and traditional versioned environments.
Implement change requests related to schemas, metadata, tables, and feature classes.
Manage mosaics, rasters, indices, statistics, and database optimization.
Publish and maintain geospatial services.
Catalogue and organize marine minerals datasets.
Maintain file structures on cloud servers.
Ensure metadata completeness and FGDC/ISO compliance.
Handle sensitive datasets marked “not for public distribution.”
Support version control, reconciling, and posting operations.
Store, migrate, or archive legacy study reports.
Manage database relationships and schemas.
Provide technical expertise in the use of databases and their integration with complementary business systems.
Analyze, evaluate, and recommend basic architecture, workflows, and technology roadmaps to support user requirements.
Perform administration and troubleshooting.
Create GIS database products.
Provide analysis and end-user support.
Create documentation on data and workflows.
Conduct testing of GIS applications.
Perform QA/QC on data, processes, and workflows.
May supervise others.

REQUIRED SKILLS & TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:

Microsoft SQL Server proficiency.
Spatial SQL knowledge.
Enterprise geodatabase design.
Versioned environment maintenance.
Database tuning.
Schema and content model updates.
Application of metadata standards, including ISO 19115 and FGDC.
Experience troubleshooting performance issues in complex cloud-hosted environments.
Demonstrated capability designing, troubleshooting, and administering geospatially enabled databases.
Technical expertise in database integration with complementary business systems.
Ability to support administration, troubleshooting, documentation, testing, and QA/QC of GIS data, processes, and workflows.
Ability to comply with DOI security and data management requirements.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

BA/BS degree.
3 years of experience.
Must be able to obtain a successfully adjudicated National Criminal History Check (NCHC) and National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI)" and hold that for the duration of the contract.
