InterDev is now seeking to add a talented, motivated, and experienced professional
to our GIS team. This is a full-time position located at the City of Dunwoody,
Georgia’s city hall. Through the public-private partnership model of government,
InterDev provides IT and GIS Services to the City of Dunwoody and we’re offering
an opportunity for a Geospatial Solutions Analyst to join our team to build on the

Geospatial Solutions Analyst, City of Dunwoody

• Have 2-5 years of professional GIS experience preferably in an enterprise
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist in administering ArcGIS Enterprise (ArcGIS Server, Geodatabases, etc.),
Portal, and ArcGIS Online
• Perform spatial analysis and create information products (maps, reports, etc.)
using advanced GIS geoprocessing tools and processes
• Develop tools and applications that engage staff and community
• Integrate departmental systems with GIS
• Maintain key datasets including addresses, parcels, roads, and city assets as
well as all other existing and future datasets
• Develop, implement, and improve GIS standards, policies and procedures as
• Provide GIS training to staff as necessary
• Provide support services for City-provided GIS software and systems including
diagnosing and troubleshooting problems
• Knowledge in geography, scientific methods, and GIS principles
• User and administrator experience with enterprise GIS software. While the city
uses the Esri product suite, open source and alternative platform experience may
also be considered that are analogous to:
• ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap, ArcCatalog, etc.)
• ArcGIS Pro
• ArcGIS Enterprise (ArcGIS Server, Geodatabases, etc.)
• ArcGIS Portal
• ArcGIS Online
• Experience editing within multi-user enterprise geodatabase environment
• Demonstrated cartographic design and high-quality map standards
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with non-GIS staff to determine business
needs and develop GIS products and services to solve those needs
• Interpersonal skills: telephony skills, communication skills, active listening, and
customer care
• Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is applied to
• Display a positive attitude towards complex challenges and problems as well as
performing repetitive tasks
• Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and work as a member of a team
• Ability to adapt to changes in work priorities while managing expectations and
competing demands in a delivery-driven, government environment
• Knowledge in government operations, city planning, or related field
• Formal education in GIS such as GIS Certificate or post-secondary degree with
related experience or coursework. Additional and/or advanced degrees may
count toward the experience required.
• Experience working with Esri ArcGIS apps and extensions
• Experience in editing & Python scripts as applied to GIS workflows
• Experience with applying extract, translate, and load processes to spatial and
tabular data, such as using SSIS, FME, or programming
• Knowledge of, or experience with SQL for querying spatial & non-spatial data
• Experience in designing and administering an enterprise geodatabase based on
MS SQL Server
• GISP or other industry certifications

Classification: Full Time, Exempt

Salary Grade/Level/Family/Range: $50,000 - $70,000

Supervisory Responsibility
This position reports to the Solutions Architect Lead, GIS Manager at the City of
Dunwoody. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard
office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and more.
Physical Demands

hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position; hours of work and days are generally Mon - Fri, 8:00 am to
5:00 pm. May be required to occasionally work after typical business hours to perform
periodic maintenance activities (e.g. software upgrades, server maintenance, etc.).
Travel, if applicable, is primarily locally during the business day and is reimbursable at
the standard government mileage rate. Attendance at professional events such as
meetings with other local jurisdictions and conferences is encouraged.
