The Wyoming Geographic Information Science Center (WyGISC) at the University of Wyoming invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in remote sensing and geospatial image processing with an anticipated start date of August 2020. The successful candidate will contribute to proposed new undergraduate and graduate programs in geospatial information science and technology (GIS&T) and to a growing multidisciplinary research program in the geospatial sciences at WyGISC.
Responsibilities will include a 50% teaching expectation (two courses per semester average) in remote sensing and UAS. The candidate will also be expected to develop an internationally recognized research program in remote sensing, UAS, and digital image processing at WyGISC and in collaboration with other faculty across campus and with colleagues nationally and internationally.
Only applicants with a PhD (or soon to be awarded) in an appropriate field at the time of application will be considered. This is a full-time 9-month tenure-track position. The successful candidate’s appointment will be at UW’s beautiful Laramie campus in the Northern Rocky Mountains. The area is known for its outdoor recreation opportunities. Salary is competitive based on experience and qualifications.
